The Center for Investors and Financial Markets enhances McIntire's collaborative, experiential approach to our highly regarded finance programs. As we prepare our students for future success in global markets, the Center develops and delivers programs that cultivate leaders and investors who contribute to the greater good across multiple industries.

Finance Academy

Finance Academy is supported by the McIntire Center for Investors and Financial Markets (CIFM) and corporate sponsor Quad-C Management, Inc.

Finance Academy was created for UVA students interested in pursuing careers in Finance, including Investment Banking, Sales and Trading, Capital Markets, Private Equity and Private Credit, Asset Management, Wealth Management/Private Banking, and other finance-related fields. 

The program is offered once a year in the Fall and prepares second-year students for the internship recruiting process via classroom instruction that builds a background in finance concepts and tools applicable to the finance industry. The program focuses on the practical application of finance theory and complements what is taught in intro finance classes.

Careers in Finance

The Center hosts “Careers in Finance”, a finance professionals speaker series open to all interested students, with a target population of first- and second-years interested in careers in finance. The speaker series is traditionally held during the Fall semester over a period of six to eight weeks. These conversations with potential employers provides the audience with information about various careers in finance, assisting students who are beginning their evaluation of possible employment in finance-related fields.  Keep an eye on the Upcoming Events section of our website, and Handshake, for more information on the next CIF series.
