The Center for Investors and Financial Markets enhances McIntire's collaborative, experiential approach to our highly regarded finance programs. As we prepare our students for future success in global markets, the Center develops and delivers programs that cultivate leaders and investors who contribute to the greater good across multiple industries.

Finance Academy

Finance Academy is organized and hosted by the Center for Investors and Financial Markets and the McIntire School's Student Success unit. Finance Academy provides training and interview preparation for second-year UVA students seeking a future career in finance. The program design spans the entire academic year and includes: 

  • A fall weekly lecture series taught by McIntire School professors and our corporate sponsor Quad-C
  • A three-day intensive investment banking skills prep workshop
  • A multi-day trek to New York City during J-term to visit investment banks and other financial institutions
  • Private equity training with Quad-C professionals
  • Mentoring, guidance, and interview prep with alumni and former graduates of Finance Academy

Careers in Finance

Careers in Finance is a weekly fall semester program aimed at introducing UVA students from across Grounds to the financial services industry. The weekly series features presentations and case studies with alumni at top investment banks and financial institutions, diving into their specialties including wealth management, global markets, restructuring investment banking, and mergers & acquisitions.
